  Thanks for your posting on this site. From my own personal experience, occasionally softening right up a photograph could provide the photo shooter with an amount of an inventive flare. Often times however, the soft blur isn't precisely what you had as the primary goal and can in many cases spoil an otherwise good photo, especially if you intend on enlarging this.
